Physical Development Planning<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the year 2022 Kamuli Municipal Council developed a 10-year Physical Development Plan running from 2022 to 2032 and has developed detailed physical plans for all the ten wards and they are the basis for planned settlements and regulated infrastructure developments. However, the physical development function still needs funds for sensitization, digitalization, enforcement, and implementation.<\/p>\n

Water for Production<\/strong><\/p>\n

Though Kamuli MC lacks large-scale valley dams and tanks, several public stand taps and rainwater harvesting systems have been established through NWSC and community initiatives.

Seasonal water shortages are common in dry months, particularly in Southern division, where reliance on shallow wells and unprotected sources persists.
\nTransport<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kamuli MC relies on road transport. Key access roads include the Kamuli\u2013Jinja highway and several feeder roads connecting rural trading centers (Table 2.10). However, many murram roads become impassable during rains, especially in Nankulyaku, Namisambya ii, Buwanume and Buwudha.

Overcrowding, boda boda congestion, and poor drainage along some key junctions in Kamuli Town affect mobility and trade logistics.
\nEnergy<\/strong><\/p>\n

Electricity access is improving, with over 50% of urban households connected to the national grid. Stable supply is common in Kamuli Town, Buwagi while Nankulyaku experiences frequent voltage drops due to aging transformers and illegal tapping. Solar energy usage is rising in new settlements and trading zones. Charcoal and firewood remain dominant for cooking, though uptake of LPG is increasing among middle-income earners.
\nInformation Communication and Technology (ICT)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kamuli MC has decent ICT coverage, with MTN and Airtel offering mobile and internet services in most areas. However, signal strength varies, especially in peri-urban zones.<\/p>\n
