Key Achievements from the MDP III Implementation Period

In the education sector, the Municipality constructed 12 classrooms at Kamuli Boys, Buterimire, and Namisambya II Primary Schools, resulting in increased classroom space and contributing to improved learning outcomes. This investment supported the rise in PLE pass rates from 88.3% to 93.2% and strengthened girl-child retention. The health sector equally registered progress, with outpatient attendance increasing from 0.76 to 0.97 per capita, skilled deliveries at Busota HC III rising to 91.4%, and immunisation coverage consistently remaining above 95%. The acquisition of a garbage truck under USMID improved waste collection in Central and Southern Divisions, while enhanced drainage maintenance strengthened the Municipality’s sanitation profile.

Livelihood improvement efforts were also evident as 2,800 farmers benefited from enterprise development support through OWC and Emyooga initiatives, leading to increased commercial farming from 15.4% to 19.2%. Governance and institutional development improved through the construction of Division Offices, enhanced staff capacity, and development of a valuation roll, which boosted local revenue mobilisation and strengthened municipal management.
